Sapelo Island Changing Tides

We would like to invite you into our family home, which is nestled in the Live Oak Trees of the quiet and historic community of Hog Hammock on Sapelo Island, GA. Sapelo Island is a very special place that my family holds dear to our hearts. I have been visiting since I was a young child with my parents. While a college student, I did some naturalist and ecological study trips on the island. As a biology teacher, I have brought some of my advanced placement students for field trips here. My family has camped many times on Cabretta and also in the Hog Hammock campground.

My husband and I have a deep appreciation for wildlife in its natural habitat and enjoy the beauties that come along with an untouched and protected environment.  We were blessed to purchase our island home in 2020. We have always enjoyed time spent together away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We want to instill in our children a love for pristine and undeveloped natural beauty as well. It’s rubbing off on them quite nicely!

We love our home on Sapelo and want to share a piece of this special place with you. We have decided to make it available for couples, families, friends, employee groups, teachers, church small groups, etc. to be able to enjoy Sapelo. I am extremely passionate about Sapelo and about sharing its beauty. Just as the tides change from high to low, so will your stress level as you relax into a peaceful sanctuary of Sapelo Island.

We hope during your experience at Changing Tides we will provide you with an environment that allows you to slow down, refocus, and renew your mind.  We hope you will develop an appreciation for this beautiful island, and take with you so many cherished memories that you will long to return to Sapelo in the near future!
